3 tips for Marvellous Early Spring garden living

Warmer weather is on the horizon: get your spring garden ready for early outdoor living

You can almost feel it, can’t you? That subtle shift in the air, the slightly brighter mornings, the first brave bulbs pushing through the soil. It’s still light past 5pm – at least it would be if these clouds would part for a moment …

Spring isn’t quite here yet, but it’s close enough that many of us are itching to get back outside. And honestly, why wait?

If you’re already dreaming of that first barbecue of the year or imagining cosy evenings on the patio, you’re not alone. With a little preparation — and the right gas appliances — you can start enjoying your outdoor spring garden space long before summer arrives.

Have a Gentle Early‑Spring Garden Reset

This time of year is perfect for easing yourself back into garden life. A quick tidy, a sweep of the patio, maybe a few early plants in pots — it’s amazing how quickly your outdoor space starts to feel inviting again.

And once the garden looks the part, the next step is making it comfortable enough to actually spend time in. That’s where the magic of gas appliances comes in.

Start Barbecue Season Early With a Gas BBQ

There’s something special about that first barbecue of the year. Even if you’re wrapped in a jumper, the smell of food cooking outdoors just hits differently after winter.

Gas barbecues make early‑season grilling effortless:

• Instant heat — no waiting around for coals

• Consistent temperature control for perfect cooking

• Quick setup so you can fire it up even on a weekday evening

If you’re thinking about upgrading before spring properly arrives, our range of gas barbecues gives you plenty of choice — from compact models for smaller patios to larger grills perfect for hosting friends and family.

Stay Warm With a Gas Patio Heater

Let’s be honest: early spring in the UK can still be chilly. But that doesn’t mean you need to retreat indoors the moment the sun dips.

A gas patio heater changes everything for your spring garden. With instant, powerful warmth, you can comfortably enjoy your garden weeks — even months — earlier than you normally would. Whether you’re sipping a morning coffee outside or hosting a relaxed evening barbecue, a patio heater keeps the space cosy and inviting.

At The Gas Yard, we supply a range of gas patio heaters ideal for patios, pergolas, and garden seating areas. They’re reliable, efficient, and perfect for extending your outdoor season.

Make the Most of the Lighter Days

Spring always feels like a fresh start, and getting outside earlier in the year is a brilliant way to shake off the winter slump. With the right setup — a tidy garden, a ready‑to‑go barbecue, and a warm patio — you’ll find yourself spending more time outdoors than ever.

If you’re ready to prepare your garden for the season ahead, we’re here to help. Whether you need a new gas BBQ, a patio heater, or a refill for your gas bottles, The Gas Yard has everything you need to make early‑spring outdoor living easy and enjoyable.
